[Private] Old Town Phuket & Peranakan Food Trail
Long known as the city of beautiful beaches, Phuket is also a top destination for foodies. In December 2011, Phuket Town was honored by UNESCO to join a list of ‘World’s Leading Cities of Gastronomy’. This is why we would like to invite you to discover the secret of Phuket Town and its delicious local menu.
Start the day early by picking you up at your hotel. Then, move to Phuket Town, which has morphed into an artsy, charming cultural neighborhood. Enjoy your morning by tasting famous local Phuket’s style breakfast, Dim Sum and Rice Vermicelli with Southern Thai Curry served with Vegetable Buffet (Yes, it’s Vegetable Buffet for the morning!). Then, try the famous freshly made charcoal-fried Roti served with a locally made curry. After that, it’s time to explore the historic Tha-Lang road, where you will learn and see the charming Peranakan culture, also known as Baba tradition, as well as beautiful Sino-Portuguese architectures. After a cultural walk, try traditional Baba cuisines - Porpie and Moo Hong. We will finish this delicious trip at Khao Rang for a dessert with a beautiful panoramic view of Phuket city before dropping you off at your hotel.

What people say about this tour
My colleague and I booked a driving/walking food tour with Phuket Food Tours, and we were fortunate to be paired with Adam. Adam graced us with much of Thailand's and Phuket's history, and treated us to some of the "insider" haunts that are usually reserved for the locals. Adam ordered ahead of every food stop (there were 5 of them!), and he chose items that we would never experience on our own in the wild. Marvelous tastes - sweet, savory, hot, you name it. And to finish it off, we were squired to a nature reserve and marveled at the local monkeys messing with the tourists! What a hoot! There's just something warming about a little munching a purloined ice cream cone...
You would be well served to take a Phuket Food Tour, and even better served to request Adam as your guide. George K - TripAdvisor
Thank you, again, Adam!
This tour was amazing! So much food to enjoy throughout the entire trip. Adam was amazing, so knowledgeable and bubbly. If you are going to book this tour I would suggest you ask for Adam as we learnt so much about the food and history. Nicole S - TripAdvisor

We booked the half day Phuket Town tour and our guide was Teddy. This was an amazing day start to finish! They pick you up from your hotel, and take you everywhere by comfortable mini van. I would recommend this for early on in your Phuket trip because it is a great way to see the town and have someone there to answer all of your questions. It was just the two of us with Teddy so he shared so much interesting information with us the whole time!! We tried the perfect mix of local, traditional and fancy food items. It was a large amount of food, with walking and exploring mixed in. We would highly recommend this tour!! amandaeden11 - TripAdvisor
We booked this tour after doing the Bangkok food tour last summer with their Sister company. We did a half day tour around Phuket Old Town with a walking tour and 5 restaurants. The food as always was incredible and our guide Teddy was superb - very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We were very impressed with the value for money as unlike in Bangkok we were not part of a large group which we had expected to be. Instead my husband and I had a private tour which was really amazing. On the walking tour Teddy took us to a Thai temple as well as a Chinese temple and pointed out a lot of things around the streets of Phuket. We also have yours booked for Chiang Mai and Bangkok with the sister company in 2 weeks so fingers crossed they are as good! Definitely recommend. Naomi M - TripAdvisor
We completely agree with the review by Sebastian Grief. We spent a similar day with Adam - we found the tour of Phuket and sampling the local food to be an amazing experience. Adam's knowledge of Phuket and his choice of places to eat was invaluable and made our experience so much better. We recommend him without hesitation Mike & Karen Chapman
Today we did the food tour with Adam in Phuket Town. He was amazing and we highly recommend him as a guide for further tours with your company. The food selection was great and Adam explained all the ingredients and how to make each meal in detail and the history behind the food. He has a huge knowledge of Thai food as well as of the country, the people and the variety of different cultures. Last but not least he was very kind and polite and paid a lot of attention to our safety (for example when we had to cross the street or got out of the car) and he speaks fluently English. It was very easy to understand him. In short, we had a very nice, tasty and interesting day with Adam and learned a lot about Thai Food and Phuket. Sebastien Greif
